Image Mode

Setting the Scanning Image Mode

  • Set the scanning image mode. Select the type that is appropriate for the target image from the list.

Arrow Black &White

The document is scanned in two tones, black and white. Black and white are distinguished according to the threshold setting of the Scanning Parameter. This method is suitable for scanning lines and characters.


 Arrow Halftone

The document is converted to a halftone. It is then scanned in two tones, black and white, and gray is expressed as combination of black and white dots based on the Halftone setting. The halftone method is suitable for scanning images that have contrast, such as photographs.


 Arrow Grayscale

A document is scanned in 256 gradations of black and white. Detailed contrast in photographs is faithfully rendered.

 

Arrow 24 bit Color

Scans data using 24 bits color. This mode is suitable for scanning color photograph and employs far more memory that Gray scale mode.

Arrow 256 colors

Scans data using 256 colors. Data size is smaller than Color selected.
Please note that the image quality of "256 colors (8 bit)" is inferior to the case of "24 bit Color". Choose "24 bit Color" for higher quality.

Arrow 8 colors

Scans data using 8 colors. Data size is smaller than 256 Colors selected.
Please note that the image quality of "8 colors" is inferior to the case of "24 bit Color" and "256 colors (8 bit)". Choose "24 bit Color" for higher quality.
