Subject and Keywords

The Subject and Keywords element refers to an object's intellectual content. You may enter subject words and phrases from established thesauri, but be sure to use the dropdown list to specify the controlled vocabulary used.  If you use a subject that did not come from one of the listed vocabularies, chose "OTH - Other."

SubjectFor the Portal to Texas HistorySM resources, at least one keyword must come from the UNT Libraries' Browse Subjects (UNTL-BS). (Just copy and paste it directly from the UNTL-BS widget). Since the UNT Libraries' local subject-heading drives the Portal's Browse by Subject page, entering a UNTL-BS term is vital.

You can enter additional free keywords (your own) as needed to help users locate the resource.  For these, choose "KWD - Keyword" from the controlled vocabulary list.
