Last-part
-The next element is Contributor, which does not apply to this particular map. Although some resources can have several contributors, many objects may not have any Contributor attributes as well.
-The Source element can be used to describe the original resource from which the current digital resource is derived (in whole or in part). We have entered: "Gray's atlas of the United States, with general maps of the world / by O.W. Gray."
-The next field is Language. For this map, the language is "English." If the desired language is not listed, select "other" from the language drop box and let us know the language that needs to be added.
-The next set of elements deals with Coverage. First we have the Place Name. You can use the UNTL-BS Place name widget, and for this map, we select: " United States - Texas". If needed, you can add city name after the county name. For Time Period we select "civ-war - Civil War and Reconstruction, 1861-1876" because that time period best represents this map. This map has a single date associated with it. Although the Coverage element is a bit more general than something like Original Creation Date, we entered the year for this Date element (1874) as well.
-Next we have Resource Type, which should obviously be "Image-Map".
-Relation does not apply to this map, as there are really no resources related to it.
-Format should be "Image".
-Degree information doesnot apply here, as it is designed only for electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs).
-And, finally, we make sure that the Hidden check-box is not checked before we click "Save" to save the record.
-Please note that the Metadata Information fields at the end of the record, Creator, [created], [modifier], and [modified] are all automatically added by the Portal system. See also more metadata examples.
