Tech Talks Presentation by Ann Howington, June 11, 2008
Summary
In this Techtalk, Program Coordinator Ann Howington provides an overview of the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). The NDNP expands the Digital Projects Unit into the area of newspaper digitization. The program will create a national, digital resource of historically significant newspapers published between 1836 and 1922. Texas is one of 8 states participating in NDNP for this second cycle. The content will be available on the Chronicling America website and the Portal to Texas History.
UNT Digital Projects is also launching the Texas Digital Newspaper Program to similarly digitize Texas’ newspaper titles that are not part of the national program. These will be available on the Portal to Texas History.
