An Overview of the Linux Operating System

Tech Talks Presentation by Kurt Nordstrom, April 30, 2008

Highlights

Digital Projects Programmer Kurt Nordstrom gives us an overview of the Linux Operating System. In this talk we'll take a look at the free, open-source operating system, Linux.  We'll look at where it came from, what it can do, and try to answer the question of just why you ought to care about it in the first place.  We'll try to take a broad view and avoid getting mired in too many technical details.  Hopefully it'll be fun!  If not, we'll happily refund the total cost of admission!

About the Author:  Programmer Analyst Kurt Nordstrom resolves technical issues for the Portal to Texas History and the UNT Libraries' Digital Collections.
