The Portal to Texas History Launches Redesigned Web Site
New Portal to Texas History Home Page
We are proud to announce the official release of the updated Portal to Texas History.
Working with the Multimedia Development Lab, the Digital Projects Unit
redesigned the entire site. We also restructured and migrated all of
the Portal content to a new digital asset management system developed
in-house.
This work is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) funded
research project investigating the information seeking behavior of
genealogists, a significant user group of digital libraries. The
project continues through the end of November, and further usability
and utility testing will inform enhancements to the Portal planned for
the fall of 2009. When the project concludes, the Web site will
include several new updates based on user-centered feedback.
