Grant Awarded

The University of North Texas has been selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Library of Congress for the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP): "Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers." The award of $397,552 will fund digitization of historical Texas newspapers.  For the grant UNT serves as lead institution with partners at Texas Tech University and at the Center for American History at the University of Texas. The award will fund the first two years of this twenty year initiative.
