Library Material Delivery Service
For UNT Libraries owned materials, the Access Services Department will deliver regular circulating materials to other locations when any of the following criteria are met:
- The request is for items located in Remote Storage. Because of space limitations, many older books and periodicals are housed in Remote Storage. Materials are generally retrieved within 24 hours, but no retrievals are made on weekends or holidays. Remote Storage items generally circulate as regular circulating books. Materials will be held at the appropriate circulation desk for no longer than 10 days.
- The request is from faculty/students who are located at the Discovery Park and need materials from either the Eagle Commons Library or the Willis Library.
- The request is from faculty/students who are located at the main UNT Campus and need materials from the Discovery Park Library.
- The request is from students who only attend classes at the UNT Dallas Campus and need materials from the main UNT Campus.
To access materials in Remote Storage or to request materials from a library on campus be brought to another library on campus please use the Library Materials Delivery Request Form.

- Requests for Microforms will be referred to the Microform Department.
- To renew library materials go to the UNT Library home page and click on the Renew Your Materials button.
How to request books or journal articles owned by UNT Libraries
- UNT Distance Learning students and patrons from the UNT-Dallas campus should enter requests for UNT owned materials through their ILLiad account.
- UNT faculty members may request a copy of any article, book chapter, or conference paper through their ILLiad account.
- UNT students should use the Library Materials Delivery Request Form.
Library Annex Reading Room
Graduate students or faculty members who need access to long runs of periodicals or to a large series of volumes at one time should call the Access Services Desk (940/565-2413) or email Circulation to request use of the Annex Reading Room. The volumes needed will be pulled and placed in the Reading Room for on site use by the requester. Use of the room must be scheduled at least 24 hours or more in advance and is subject to availability. If you need the materials for more than one day, please inform Circulation at the time of your initial request. Maps and directions to the Library Annex will be given at the time the room is reserved.
Other information about the Library Materials Delivery Service:
- Copies of journal articles, class notes, and tests on reserve will be delivered electronically or e-mailed (PDF). For requests to be e-mailed, please limit requests to no more than 30 pages for each request. Depending on your e-mail provider, you may not be able to receive files larger than that.
- Reserve books are normally not sent by mail but copies of a chapter or other small portions of the books can be delivered electronically to your ILLiad account if the amount requested is not in violation of copyright laws.
- Periodical volumes (except those located in Remote Storage) or individual issues are not sent by mail nor are they delivered to other UNT Library locations.
- Fragile materials may be restricted to Library Use Only.
- Submit one form per article and/or book.
