1. What is the Library Materials Delivery Service?
The Library Materials Delivery Services is a service the library provides for the delivery of items housed in our libraries. Information regarding this service is at Library Material Delivery Service.
2. What does the location "Remote Storage" mean?
The Libraries do not have enough room to store all library materials in the library buildings open to our users. Many items are stored on our remote facility. This facility is not open to the public but materials can be retrieved for use.
3. How do I access an item in Remote Storage?
Complete the Library Materials Delivery Service Form to request items house in Remote Storage. This form can also be use to request items to be delivered to the Research Park or from the Research Park. This form can also be accessed through the UNT Library Catalog by clicking on the Remote Storage location.
4. Can I request an item be brought from remote storage even though I am not eligible to checkout materials?
Yes, the item will be brought to the Circulation Desk and you may view it in the library.
5. Can I have a book delivered from one UNT Library to another?
It depends on where the item is located and which library you would like it delivered to. Please see Library Material Delivery Service for specifics.
6. How long does it take for items to be delivered through the Library Materials Delivery Service?
Your requested items, if they are located, should be available the next day (except on weekends and on holidays) and will be delivered to the circulation desk appropriate for that call number or subject.
7. How long will retrieved items be held for pickup as part of the Library Materials Delivery Service?
Items are held for ten days.
8. Is there a limit to how many requests I can make through the Library Materials Delivery Service?
Generally, there is a limit of 5 requests per person at one time. No retrievals are made on weekends or holidays. If more requests are needed, materials can be held in the Library Annex Reading Room for viewing.
9. What is the Library Annex Reading Room?
Graduate students and faculty members may request that remote storage materials may be pulled and placed in the Library Annex Reading Room for examination. This is particularly useful when large numbers of items are needed.
10. How do I make an appointment for use of the Library Annex Reading Room?
Contact the Circulation Department by telephone at (940) 565-2413 or by e-mail at circ@unt.edu. Appointments are available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. At least 24 hours advance notice is required.
11. Can I request items be delivered to the Dallas Campus?

12. Can I have articles from Remote Storage e-mailed to me?
Copies of articles from Remote Storage items are usually e-mailed but there may be some limitations in cases where the articles are more than 30 pages.
