1. What is the fine rate for overdue items?
The fine rate for regular circulating materials is $.35 per book per day. Special materials have higher fine rates. See Circulation Policies for specifics.
2. Where can I pay my library fine?
Library Fines can be paid at the first floor Willis Library Circulation Desk up until thirty before the desk closes. We accept cash, check, debit/credit card and money orders.
Check payments for fines are also accepted at the Discovery Park Library Circulation Desk, the Eagle Commons Library Circulation and the Media Library.
3. How do I pay a library fine?
Fines can be paid in person at the Fines & Blocks Desk, rm. 126, Willis Library, by mail, or by phone at 940-565-2414.
Fine payments by check are now also accepted at the Discovery Park Library (Circulation), the Eagle Commons Library and the Media Library during their hours of operation.
4. What methods of payment can I use to pay for fines?
Fines may be paid by cash, check, money order or credit card between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. After hours, you may pay by check or money order at the Willis Library Circulation Desk. Fine payments by check are also accepted at the Media Library, Discovery Park Library and the Eagle Commons Library (formerly the Science and Technology Library) during their hours of operatiion.
5. Can I pay my library fine over the telephone?
Yes, during the hours of 8a-5p, Monday-Friday by calling the Fines and Blocks Desk at 940-565-2414.
6. Will I received a notice for overdue items?
Courtesy notices are sent by e-mail 3 days before items are due. Overdue notices are sent by e-mail when items are 10 days overdue and 30 days overdue.
7. What do I do if I lose a book?
Contact the Fines Desk at (940) 565-2414 or come to the Fines Desk in person.
8. What do I do if I damage a library book?
Contact the Fines Desk at (940) 565-2414. Depending on the extent of the damage, you may have to pay a rebind fee or, if the damage is extensive, you may have to pay the replacement cost of the item.
