County Records

Cooke County bound volumes and microfilm.

The University Archives serves as a depository for microfilmed records made available by the Texas State Library.  UNT holds microfilmed records for the following Texas counties:

  • Cooke
  • Denton
  • Montague
  • Wise

These materials include tax rolls, deeds, marriages, wills, probate, and naturalization records.

 In addition, the Archives hold ledgers for:

  • Cooke County that include information on chattel mortgages, criminal dockets, civil dockets, and county school records
  • Montague County that contain information about chattel mortgages, criminal minutes, and civil dockets.

The microfilmed records are available through interlibrary loan.

The UNT Libraries will be closed Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend. The Libraries will reopen during regular building hours on Tuesday, May 29.
