Donation of books and other materials

The UNT Libraries gratefully accept donations of books from personal collections.  Books and reference materials that support the academic teaching and research mission of the university are needed and appreciated. If you wish to donate materials to the UNT Libraries, please bring them to the circulation desk in the Willis Library.  If you wish to donate music items, rare books or archival materials, please contact the Head of those departments to discuss your donation.

Donations will be reviewed for inclusion in our collections, and will be placed in circulation, sold, or discarded.  All proceeds directly benefit the Libraries. Please include a completed Gift Agreement Form with your donation.

Gifts to the UNT Libraries are tax deductible, and an acknowledgement letter serves as your receipt for tax purposes. The libraries cannot provide a list of individual items in your donation.  If you would like a list please include it with your donation.  We will verify it and include it with your acknowledgement letter.  The Libraries are not permitted by the IRS to give donors an estimate of the value of gifts.  Donors are responsible for meeting the appraisal requirements of the IRS for any contributions claimed.

If you have any questions about donation of gifts, please contact Dreanna Belden (940) 369-8740.
